Last night the Washington Capitals were in Philadelphia to take on the Flyers, and the game ended with a 4-1 win for the Capitals.
It was a close game until the final minutes when Alexander Ovechkin potted two empty-net goals to score his 14th & 15th of the season, which was his 794th and 795th of his career, bringing him to 99 goals to reach #99 now.
When Ovechkin scored his second empty net goal, he skated the puck in to the net instead of taking a shot, which Flyers forward Travis Konecny was not too pleased with. He went after Ovechkin at the end for this move and caused a bit of a scrum.
After the game, Konecny was asked about why he went after Ovechkin, which he responded:
I mean, it might of not have looked as bad, I just didn't like I personally thought that he deked it and put it on his backhand, but maybe it wasn't as bad as I thought
Was this worth getting upset over? Ovechkin is chasing the great ones record and wanted to ensure it was a definite goal so he skated to the net.
