For months the tension between Andrei Kuzmenko and Canucks Head Coach Rick Tocchet has been growing and may have reached its peak. Kuzmenko has been scratched a handful of times after scoring 39 goals for the Canucks last season.
According to an NHL insider, Tocchet has reached the end of his fuse with Kuzmenko.
Kuzmenko who seemed to be a promising player for the Canucks just last season may now be on his way out. Most teams would be interested in adding a potential 40-goal scorer to their roster. With 8 goals and 19 points in 32 games and the clear disconnect between playstyle and Tocchet's coaching style a change of scenery may be needed.
The Canucks need to make a decision on Kuzmenko soon, as he is making $5.5 million to sit in the press boxes. With the trade deadline approaching fast if you are planning on trading him, they need to start playing him to try and increase his value.
In order to get a good return for the former 39-goal scorer he must be playing on the ice showing other teams his ability. Wasting him away in the press box only hurts his value.
