A crazy scene broke out as the time winded down in the second period of the Red Wings-Kings game last night, as a bench-clearing brawl nearly broke out.

Bench Clearing Brawl Breaks Out As Second Period Ends

If fighting is becoming rarer in the NHL, line brawls and bench brawls are becoming even more so, as you almost never see teams engage in a full scrum like they used to.

That wasn't the case last night though, as we got a taste of some old-school hockey in the Red Wings-Kings game last night. Just as the seconds ticked off the second period, a line brawl erupted.

The brawl was started as Sieder and Danault were chirping each other after the period ended, and since everyone was on the ice going to their respective dressing rooms, things took off.

Seider and Danault were chirping, then Kempe got into it with Seider, and then everyone joined in.

Red Wings Get Last Laugh as they Complete Comeback for the Victory

The Red Wings ultimately got the last laugh in the game, as they were able to delete the Kings 2-0 deficit and win the game in a shootout. None other than Detroit's newest addition Patrick Kane was the player who sealed the deal in the shootout for Detroit, proving to be an effective addition to the club.
