Last night the Stanley cup finals were back in Colorado for game 5. With the Lightning down 3-1, veteran superstar Nikita Kucherov was doing everything he could to ensure the Lightning would live to fight another day.
While unlike Kucherov, he hasn't been able to contribute much on the score sheet in this series, so he has been trying to contribute in other ways, like laying the body.
Unfortunately for him though, Cale Makar can not only take a hit, but can deliver one back fairly well, and Makar decided he wasn't going to allow Kucherov to deliver the hit he was lining up.
Makar he not only a great offensive defenceman, but he can play shutdown hockey and throw some big hits as well. His reverse hit on Kucherov, hit him so far that Kucherov's helmet flew off. While Makar was supposed to be the target, Kucherov definitely took the worst of this.
