Jon Cooper is a great coach, and great coaches will defend their team until the end but something that has been all over the media today is the too many men on the ice during the Overtime goal by Nazem Kadri last night. Jon Cooper did not take this well, but if we go back to last years Eastern Conference Finals, and watch game 2, it shows that Cooper might just be a hypocrite.
In game 2, Ondrej Palat scored the Lightnings 2nd goal which gave them a 2 goal lead, but if you count the players on the ice, the Lightning actually have 7 skaters and Andrei Vasilevskiy, which is more than the Avalanche had last night. Barry Trotz was livid with the play, but Jon Cooper had nothing to say about the play, considering it went his way.
We also cannot forget one of the biggest missed too many men call of the playoffs, when the Bolts circumvented the cap.
