A Sportsnet employee revealed the news to a member of the Daily Hive that Marek was no longer part of the network. Fans were very nervous over the last month as no one saw or heard from Marek, with many significantly worried about his safety.
According to several unverified reports circulating on social media, Canadian sports broadcasting giant Sportsnet is parting ways with longtime host, analyst and insider Jeff Marek.
Marek has co-hosted the enormously popular '32 Thoughts' podcast with Elliotte Friedman for years now and has evolved into one of the game's most connected insiders in recent seasons.
Angry fans began taking to social media to voice their displeasure over the possible firing, and also issued words of encouragement to Marek.
Following the end of the NHL entry draft in June, Marek went missing, and has not hosted a single show since. One of the episodes was cancelled in its entirety. Marek was also completely silent on social media. There are a lot of disappointed podcast fans out there today with this unfortunate update.
