Ben Johnson was once an NHL draft pick but also a convicted criminal, and he has now just signed a one-year contract with HK Dukla Michalovce in Slovakia.

Ben Johnson is now 30, but the New Jersey Devils drafted him in the third round of the 2012 NHL draft and signed him to an entry-level deal with the franchise before his disgusting actions had his contract terminated and led to Johnson receiving a three-year prison sentence for his crimes.

Ben Johnson was found guilty of two separate assault incidents while he was a player with the OHL's Windsor Spitfires. Both of the incidents occurred within weeks of each other in the washrooms of two different bars.

The first incident is the forcing of a 20-year-old woman to commit acts with him without her consent. In the second incident, Ben Johnson forced a 16-year-old girl to do the same acts, once again without her consent. The second female was intoxicated during the commission of the crime.

It's truly a shame that his hockey talents outweigh his poor reputation to some teams, as he has now just signed a one-year contract with HK Dukla Michalovce in Slovakia. Another undeserving person now gets another chance at making money playing pro hockey, whereas in this case, he should have been banned throughout the world.
