For the past few months now, fans and experts have been sharing their predictions for the rosters ahead of the upcoming NHL Four-Nations Face-Off.
This event has been generating a lot of hype, as it's been years since we saw the best players in the world competing against each other.
The United States, Finland, Sweden, and Canada have until December 4th to announce their complete rosters.
With players such as Sidney Crosby, Connor McDavid, and Nathan MacKinnon set to participate in the event, there's a general belief that Canada will be a hard team to play against. However, the goaltending could sink the team.
The top candidates for Canada include Jordan Binnington, Adin Hill, Marc-André Fleury, Joey Daccord, and Samuel Montembeault.
Unfortunately for one of these players, a formality will prevent him from representing Canada at the tournament.
Indeed, Joey Daccord, who has American and Canadian citizenship, won't be able to play for Team Canada because he doesn't have a Canadian passport.
He could, however, get his passport in time to represent Canada at the 2026 Olympics.
This season, Daccord, 28, has a 10-6-1 record with the Kraken. He tallies a .912 save percentage as well as a 2.56 goals-against average.
Considering the great American goaltenders available for Team USA, like Jeremy Swayman, Connor Hellebuyck, and Jake Oettinger, Daccord's chances of making the roster are very slim.
Don't be surprised if he tries to get his Canadian passport before the Olympics if he wants to be in that tournament.
