A new 3 on 3 professional hockey league has recently launched with the season set to begin this November in North America, and there are already a lot of haters. Right off the bat, fans would have expected the Major League Hockey (MLH) to be a major competition for the National Hockey League (NHL), but that does not appear to be the case, as many experts predict it will collapse.
Andrew Brewer is the founder of 200 Foot Coaching and 200 Foot Hockey, a true leader in the Hockey Technology world, and he stated that MLH has opened up tryout camps, but those interested in joining have to pay a fee. If they were to make the team and begin the season in November, they would be refunded, but only half of the tryout fee they paid. This has raised a ton of eyebrows.
The MLH claims that they will have a salary cap of $30 million right off the bat, and that their teams will be coached by former NHL players. They also state that the league will have a mix of players, ranging from entry-level skill, to professionals to ex-NHL players. People are calling it ridiculous.
The league is currently still active and operational, and they maintain their stance that play will begin in November, however many question the legitimacy of this, as they feel no true professional league with a salary cap at $30 million would ever force people have to pay to try out. They seem like an amateur, fraudulent, scam of a league. This entire situation is extremely fishy.
