Prospect Servac Petrovsky ditches the Minnesota Wild: Re-enters the draft
Back in the 2022 NHL draft, the Minnesota Wild selected Servac Petrovsky in the sixth round and the Slovak prospect has decided to leave the organization and enter the 2024 NHL draft.
Since being a sixth-round draft pick in 2022, Servac Petrovsky has struggled to improve his game at the club level. In his draft year, he scored 54 points in 65 games with the Owen Sound Attack. Over the next few years, he stayed with the Owen Sound Attack scoring 55 points in 62 games and 55 points in 57 games in his most recent campaign.
However, on the international level, Petrovsky flourished with Slovakia scoring nine points in five games leading Slovakia in scoring on a team with multiple first-round talents like Filip Mesar, Samuel Honzek, and Dalibor Dvorsky.
Today it was announced that Petrovsky would be re-entering the NHL draft and not signing with the Minnesota Wild.
As previously reported, the #mnwild don't plan to sign Servac Petrovsky by today's deadline. Eligible to re-enter the draft
Petrovsky may get drafted higher than he was taken in 2022 but his lack of growth at the OHL level is a concern for teams.
We will see if Petrovsky is drafted any higher this time around or even at all but he does look to be a talent that could break into the NHL one day.
