Carolina Hurricanes announce surprising new AHL affiliate, the Wolves
The Carolina Hurricanes played this season without an AHL team and they have now found their new affiliate, the Chicago Wolves.
AHL insider Tony Androckitis just announced the Carolina Hurricanes and the Chicago Wolves are reopening their affiliation together.
NEWS: Carolina & AHL-Chicago are closing in on a new multi-year affiliation agreement.
@InsideAHLHockey has learned, when finalized, it will be a three-year agreement that has options to extend past that.
It's been quite a process to get to this point.
The Hurricanes and Wolves were previously affiliated but separated for this season. The affiliation has been successful in the past with the Wolves winning the 2022 Calder Cup and the Hurricanes having multiple former Wolves on their team including Stefan Noesen, Jalen Chatfield, and Pyotr Kochetkov.
More details to come.
