Martin Brodeur's son signs a professional contract with Devils organization
Jeremy Brodeur, son of former NHL legend Martin Brodeur, has signed a contract with the Utica Comets, the AHL affiliate team of the NHL's New Jersey Devils.
Jeremy is 27 years old and played in the ECHL last season for the Thunder, where he had a very solid 2.56 goals against average and a .918 save percentage. His record was 18-9-3. He also played in six playoff games, maintaining a 3-1 record with a 2.47 goals against average and a .917 save percentage.
NEWS: we've signed Will MacKinnon and Jeremy Brodeur to one-year, one-way AHL contracts!
Jeremy never had quite the success his dad had at his age, as Martin Brodeur was the best goalie in the history of the Devils franchise. Martin went on to win three Stanley Cups with the Devils in 1995, 2000 and 2003, and finished his career with a whopping 691 wins, a ridiculously good goals against average of 2.24 and a fabulous save percentage of .912. Martin's number was retired in 2016 and lifted to the rafters of the Prudential Center. Talk about big shoes to fill!
The #NJDevils retired Martin Brodeur's No. 30 on Feb. 9, 2016.
Season tickets for the Comets are now on sale, so fans eager to see the son of a legend in goal better hurry, as tickets are selling quick.
