Zayne Parekh and Michael Misa were both snubbed by Dave Cameron, and now, they've both stared him down after the Saginaw Spirit dominated the Ottawa 67's, showing what everyone knew in the first place, that both players should have been crucial for that tournament.
Team Canada failed to medal at the 2025 World Juniors, and unsurprisingly, that was all linked back to the dreadful decisions of Dave Cameron and the selection staff, who were
called out by the likes of Zayne Parekh after their poor decision making.
Since that snub, Zayne Parekh, a top Calgary Flames prospect has been on absolute fire, tallying 8 goals and 15 points over his last three games, but it was the latest of all that was the most intriguing.
During the matchup, Parekh and the potential No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft Michael Misa both scored, and they didn't miss the opportunity to embarrass Cameron, as they both stared him down after their goals.
While it's easy to look at this in hindsight and call out Cameron, fans, and analysts all over Canada were calling them out for months before and during the tournament, so this was a good opportunity for both to get back at Team Canada.
The Spirit would go on to win the game 7-2, with Parekh recording his second hat-trick in three games, with the former No. 9 overall draft pick up to 21 goals and 59 points in 39 games thus far on the season.
Ultimately, nothing that anyone can do now can change the ridiculous decision-making of Cameron and Team Canada, who unsurprisingly finished fifth at the tournament, and with both players thriving, they'll have their eyes on another Memorial Cup in 2025.
