Jacob Markstrom has been absolutely incredible for the Calgary Flames in 2023-24, and with the team looking to capitalize on that value, they've looked into many trades, but so far all it's done is angered the star goaltender.
Jacob Markstrom calls out the Calgary Flames?
After a deal between Calgary and the New Jersey Devils was reportedly shut down by GM Craig Conroy, Markstrom took to the media to call out the front office.
i think everyone in here, every player in here, I really respect everything that's been going on. How everyone in this room have handled everything, I think it's been really good. The whole situation and everything, am I happy about it? No, I'm not. And I think it could've been handled a lot different from up top.
With the trade deadline less than a week away, Markstrom can't be blamed for simply wanting all of the chatter to end, whether that results in him being moved or remaining in Calgary.
The team are seven points out of a playoff spot, and likely aren't going to compete in the Stanley Cup Playoffs in 2023-24, and with reports that New Jersey are looking to make another big push for him, it may make most sense for both parties if that were to come to fruition.
