Brendan Lemieux has had a reputation of being one of, if not the dirtiest player in the NHL, and now the Hurricanes have waived him for the purpose of termination.

Brendan Lemieux is a physically engaging forward for the Carolina Hurricanes. He has become known for his tenacious style, physicality, and willingness to stand up for his teammates.

This has given him the reputation of being one of the dirtiest players in the NHL. Unfortunately for Brendan Lemieux, the Carolina Hurricanes have placed him on waivers to terminate his contract.

Born on March 15, 1996, in Denver, Colorado, Lemieux brings a hard-nosed playing style reminiscent of his father, Claude Lemieux, a former NHL star.

He was selected 31st overall in the 2014 NHL Draft by the Buffalo Sabres, after which Lemieux carved out a role as an effective agitator and depth scorer.

The teams that had Lemieux before he landed with the Hurricanes were the Winnipeg Jets, New York Rangers, Los Angeles Kings, and Philadelphia Flyers.

He is one of those players who, in reality, messes up the opponent's game flow because his forechecking creates some mess in front of the opponent's net.

In Carolina, Lemieux had fit right in with the systematic hard-skate style of the Hurricanes because of his grit and energy, but unfortunately, the team was looking to go in a different direction.

Off the ice, leadership and a feisty attitude have made him very popular in the locker room, which is why there is a chance he gets claimed by another NHL team. We will know in less than 24 hours.
