Heading into the 2024 NHL Draft, there were few players more talented than Medicine Hat's Cayden Lindstrom, who had an impressive 27 goals last season in the WHL despite playing in just 31 games. That, along with his physical tools were enough for the Blue Jackets to use their top pick on him, adding him to a talented prospect group that already includes the likes of Adam Fantili, Kent Johnson and David Jiricek.
Unfortunately, he also had some negatives, and that was his extensive injury history, which is now at the fore once more, as he will reportedly miss the upcoming NHL's Prospect Challenge.
That report comes from The Athletic's Aaron Portzline, who also details Lindstrom's future in 2024, revealing that when NHL training camp begins, the 18-year old will be limited in action.
Given his immense potential, the team are more than willing to be patient for him to develop and get healthy, so while it may not be immediate for Blue Jackets fans, if they wait, they could have an absolute stud on their hands.
