Jaromir Jagr makes heartfelt comments on Johnny Gaudreau's death
Jaromir Jagr has released his first statement since the tragic passing of Johnny Gaudreau, and he had nothing but amazing things to say about him.
Hockey star Jaromir Jagr recently paid homage to the late Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, who died at tender ages. The celebrated National Hockey League celebrity shared an emotional message in his native language of Czech on Instagram on Monday about his former teammate Johnny Gaudreau. In fact, Johnny was the last player who helped assist on one of Jagr's NHL goals, which was one of his high moments at the start of Gaudreau's career.
I honestly never thought I'd write a text like this to a post. Yea that was my last nhl goal Yes, that was a pretty nice goal. Yes, it was a beautiful pass above all. Unfortunately, life can sometimes be incredibly cruel. Thank you Johnny Gaudreau for being there and giving hope to all the guys with your incredible performances that though they are not the biggest and toughest, they can succeed at the NHL world class just like you did. My condolences to the whole family.
R.I.P. to you and your brother.
- Jaromir Jagr
Translated from Czech, Jaromir Jagr's message includes a video clip of that unforgettable goal to give his message a personal touch. The words he shared aren't just a formality but reflect Jagr's honest admiration for Johnny Gaudreau. Though Gaudreau was of smaller stature, a fact that had previously amazed Jagr, he really feels Gaudreau was the one who opened doors to allow smaller players to make it in the NHL.
May both Johnny and Matthew rest in peace.
