Being apart of a outdoor game in the NHL is very sought after by many teams and which it be just days after it was announced that the Chicago Blackhawks were announced to be getting an outdoor game next year it appears another original six team will be getting one.
Original Six Team To Be In Outdoor Game Next Year
Leaked by an insider the Detroit Red Wings will be involved in a outdoor game sometime in March.
At long last. It's happening. Likely Saturday March 1, 2025 ♥️
As per Jason Newland of The Hockey News
«Per the sources, the game would be held on or around' March 1, 2025,» Newland said in his report. «March in Columbus, Ohio can be a bit of a crap shoot as well. Could be warm, could be cold, could be snowy, but will probably just be cold and grey, and hopefully not raining.»
It still is unconfirmed if this is happening or if any of these teams are involved in this outdoor game. It would be the 5th in Red Wings history that they were involved in an outdoor game.
The Red Wings History Of Outdoor Games
The Red Wings were last in an outdoor game in the Centennial Classic against the Maple Leafs in 2017 other times were a Stadium Series in 2016 against the Avalanche, 2014 Winter Classic and in 2009 against the Blackhawks.
The Red Wings have a fantastic record of 3-0-1 in outdoor games in their history and would draw a fair bit of attention being a original six team.
The Columbus Blue Jackets would make history of their own as it would be their first ever outdoor game.
