Oilers Fans Furious With Ownership After Controversial Announcement
The Edmonton Oilers have caused an uproar within their fanbase with a new announcement. The announcement will make it more difficult for fans to attend games going forward.
Oilers Announce Ticket Prices For Upcoming Playoff Games
After a rough start to the year the Edmonton Oilers look to be firmly back in the playoff race. With this in mind the organization sent out pricing to season ticket holders for their potential playoff games.

This fan who posted the photo showing the different prices for each round also commented on how tickets have increased. According to his post on X the prices for his tickets have gone up significantly from last year.
The price increases on my seats, from last year's playoffs to this year (by round): 27% (R1), 39% (R2), 66% (R3), 44% (R4).
This fan is not the only one that is outraged in the increase in prices from last year. Several other fans have seen a significant increase in their regular season ticket prices as well.
Oilers Fans Lash Out After Major Ticket Price Increases
Several other fans have also taken to social media to share their displeasure. Many do not trust that the ticket price increase will be put to good use by the franchise.
Hey @EdmontonOilers, can I get a guarantee that McDavid and Leon will sign new contracts before I pay this 11% increase in ticket pricing?
While some fans want extensions for key players like McDavid and Draisaitl others want improvements to the arena and fan experience.
If the Oilers are going to keep raising ticket prices and management is going to keep bumbling our Cup chances, they could spend the money on upgrading our scoreboard.
While every franchise goes through price spikes from time to time it seems as though this particular case is quite drastic. One has to wonder if the Oilers will change their tune and reduce these prices for next season after all of the backlash.
