Minnesota Wild release second-round pick Vladislav Firstov
This afternoon the Minnesota Wild made a roster move involving former second-round pick Vladislav Firstov. According to reports the Wild have terminated his contract.
A report from CapFriendly has confirmed that the Minnesota Wild and prospect Vladislav Firstov will be parting ways. This comes after the team placed him on unconditional waivers today for the purpose of contract termination.

Sources say #mnwild's Vladislav Firstov will be on unconditional waivers to today for purposes of contract termination.
The 2019 second-round selection spent the entirety of this season with the Iowa Wild in the AHL. After a successful season in the USHL Vladislav Firstov was picked 42nd overall. He then went on to play at the University of Connecticut with varied success. After 3 years there he was signed by the Minnesota Wild.
After signing he was loaned to KHL club Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod for the 2022-23. He then returned to North America and played 10 games with the Iowa Wild registering 4 points before returning to Russia. Now the termination will allow him to either pursue a career in the KHL or try his luck in another NHL organization.
