Former Stanley Cup champion Paul Masnick passes away at 92

The oldest member of the Montreal Canadiens 1952 Stanley Cup Championship team has sadly passed away at 92 in Barrie, Ontario.

It is a sad day in the hockey world as we mourn a former Stanley Cup champion, Paul Masnick, who passed away a few days ago in Barrie, Ontario, a place he called home for the past several years. The NHL announced his passing today.

Masnick was a member of the Montreal Canadiens Stanley Cup championship team in 1953. He played for several NHL teams through the 1950s, including the Toronto Maple Leafs, Montreal Canadiens, and Chicago Blackhawks. He scored. 59 points in 232 career NHL games.

Masnick was more than just a hockey player, and never relied purely on his income from the NHL. He earned his business degree during the summers and sold vacuum cleaners in the off-season.
