Capitals fans come under fire for tasteless comments towards New York
Playoff hockey brings out the worst in some people and recently a scrum between Rangers and Capitals fans has gone viral for what one fan was chanting.
Last night the New York Rangers took down the Washington Capitals 3-1 to go up 3-0 in their first-round series.
As the game was wrapping up, some Rangers fans got physical with some Capitals fans and one Capitals fan went to the lowest lengths to chirp the Rangers fans.
Chirping «9/11» to a Rangers fan as a WASHINGTON Capitals fan. Room temp IQ.
Aside from the comments being flat-out unacceptable, Washington was also one of the targets of the 9/11 attacks as the Pentagon was hit.
Of the nearly 3,000 victims of the attacks, 184 of them were from the Pentagon in Washington.
While hockey is just a game, some need to realize that there are more important things such as human lives. Hopefully, the fan who chanted this realizes their wrongdoings and can change in the future.
