The Ottawa Senators have a game against the New York Rangers tonight. Ahead of the contest, the team called up hard-hitting forward Zach Ostapchuk in an effort to counter Rangers rookie Matt Rempe.

Interestingly enough, Rempe and Ostapchuk already have a history. The two players have spent the majority of their pro careers at this point in the American Hockey League. As a result, they are familiar with each other. In fact, the two players had a fight a couple of seasons ago in the AHL.

Unfortunately though, Ostapchuk will not get a chance to fight Rempe again tonight as he was a late scratch. Ridley Greig, who was expected to miss the game with illness, will draw in instead, dramatically reducing the chances of another Rempe fight.

Ostapchuk was drafted in the 2nd round, 39th overall by the Senators in 2020. He has 17 goals and 28 points through 66 games in the AHL as a rookie in that league. He has zero points in six games with the Senators but he appears ton have developed into a legitimate bottom-six forward for the team. Hopefully next year he will be a regular in the lineup and maybe then we will get another chance to see him fight Rempe.
