This season has not gone according to plan for the Pittsburgh Penguins so far.
Many were hoping that last season was a fluke and that the Penguins would return to legit Stanley Cup contenders.
Through 16 games this season, the Penguins have just 14 points and are near the bottom of the Metropolitan Division. Today things have gone from bad to worse as Mike Sullivan shared a frustrating update on a pair of injuries.
This morning the Penguins took the ice for practice but did so without forwards Kevin Hayes and Cody Glass who were out due to injury.
While it is unknown exactly what happened with Kevin Hayes it has been now confirmed that Cody Glass suffered a concussion on a hit from his own teammate Lars Eller.
After both players missed practice this morning fans were anxiously awaiting an update on their status and potential recovery times.
During his post-practice press conference today Pittsburgh Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan confirmed both injuries revealing Kevin Hayes will be week to week while Cody Glass is in concussion protocol.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have just three wins in their last 10 games and continue to fall further behind in the Metropolitan Division.
If they are going to claw back to a Stanley Cup Playoff spot the turnaround needs to happen now and it will unfortunately have to happen without Kevin Hayes and Cody Glass.
As more updates are provided on both Kevin Hayes and Cody Glass we will pass along the latest news to you.
