After another successful year at the University of Minnesota, a former first-round pick has revealed that he will once again head back to the NCAA in 2024-25.

The St. Louis Blues have a solid group of prospects waiting in the wings, but few bring more promise and excitement than 2022 first-round draft pick Jimmy Snuggerud. The 19-year old has just completed his second NCAA campaign with the Minnesota Golden Gophers, and now, he has made a decision on his future.

"After talking to Jimmy and his family the past couple days, the organization fully supports his decision to commit to another season at the University of Minnesota. We look forward to watching his continued development towards becoming a solid contributor for the St. Louis Blues in the future by playing a lead role for the Golden Gophers against top college competition next year." - Doug Armstrong

While this may be a blow to some Blues fans, Snuggerud is still just 19-years of age and has plenty of time to develop, and after 84 points in 79 games played over the past two years, it appears he has incredible potential. Still, it's understandable why some may see this is a disappointing move, as he'd likely slide right into the Blues lineup right now if he made the jump to the NHL, but if he waits another season of development, it's going to help him in a big way.

It was rumoured that Jimmy Snuggerud gave huge consideration to making the NHL jump right now,but ultimately this is the move that he deems best for his development, and if it pays off, the Blues may have landed themselves a future star.
