St.Louis Blues place goaltender Jordan Binnington on the trade block
All great things must come to an end they say. We may be seeing the Jordan Binnington era in St.Louis come to an end after he was reportedly been placed on the team's trading block according to trusted sources.
The Blues need a shakeup, it is going to be their second straight season that the team misses out on the postseason, and Binnington subpar performances have not helped their chances at seeing playoff hockey.
Blues' Jordan Binnington could be subject to trade
NHL insider Elliotte Friedman believes that the St.Louis Blues will be major players in the upcoming off-season.
"I am gonna be really curious what St. Louis does in this offseason," said Friedman on the 32 Thoughts Podcast. "Doug Armstrong has really tried to do some things here... I'm curious to see what he's going to do behind the bench and I'm curious to see what he's going to do with this team.
"You can tell he wants to perform some surgery, and not minor surgery... we're talking about some major surgery," added Friedman. "He clearly, clearly has the itch to do something here."
He's got a no trade clause that goes to a partial no trade... so his full no trade drops," began Friedman. "I would be curious about what Armstrong would do here."
"You're not as good without Binnington but it might be your best chance to get something," concluded the insider.
With the emergence of young goaltender Joel Hofer needing to take the next step, it wouldn't hurt the Blues to get younger in goal, and receive futures for their number one goaltender.
