While he's not the biggest name, Leon Gawanke has put up solid numbers in the AHL, but now the Sharks have reportedly placed him on waivers for the purpose of contract termination.
Gawanke was a fifth-round pick of the Winnipeg Jets back in 2017, and over the past three years he has tallied 38 goals and 108 points in 171 games played for the Manitoba Moose and San Jose Barracuda.
Its unclear what exactly caused this move from San Jose, but the 24-year old clearly has some talent, and will now be looking for a new home in the NHL or the AHL.
