Toronto Maple Leafs Defenseman McCabe Left Leaking From A Blindside Hit

Last night the Toronto Maple Leafs faced off against the Dallas Stars in a high-scoring but tight game which the Leafs ultimately won 5-4. The Leafs positive outcome did not come without a price though as Jake McCabe was the victim of a vicious late hit from Mason Marchment.

With the puck nowhere near the hit, it is clear that this should have been a penalty which the refs missed. After the play, McCabe was furious and he let the refs hear what he thought.

Additionally, Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe gave it to the refs a bit as well.

Marchment has been producing at a solid rate for the Dallas Stars with 39 points in 50 games while averaging less than 15 minutes a night. McCabe may not have the same offensive flare but he is one of the Leafs' most consistent defensemen and has been a staple on the blue line for just about a year now.
