Ahead of the second game of the series between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Boston Bruins, head coach Sheldon Keefe played mind games with an important issue.

It started at the Leafs' morning skate. William Nylander was on the ice, but wasn't taking the line rushes. A few minutes later, he skated in the second drill, rotating with Nicholas Robertson on the third line:

"William Nylander NOT taking line rushes at skate passing puck with projected scratch Noah Gregor

Leafs showing same lineup as Game 1."

"William Nylander rotated in for Robertson on third line during second drill

Seems to be in good spirits."

After the practice, he remained on the ice with the extras:

"William Nylander is still on the ice late with the other projected scratches."

"So

-Nylander not on PP1
-Nylander not skating with L3 in line rushes at start

-Nylander does get in at the end
-Is wearing top 6 blue (along with the entire T6 group from last game)

Speculation time."

Finally, Keefe mentionned that Nylander would be a game-time decision for tonight's game in his press conference:

"Sheldon Keefe leaves the door open to William Nylander potentially playing tonight: "We'll see how he feels here the rest of the day here and make a decision.""

With all this, we still don't know what is Nylander's status for tonight, but Keefe made sure we would have a hard time to guess!
