Connor Bedard will be playing against his hometown Vancouver Canucks this weekend, and now he's revealed how costly that will be as he finally has the opportunity to play in front of his friends and family.

The Chicago Blackhawks will be visiting the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday, and given that this is the hometown of superstar Connor Bedard, it's safe to say that he'll be more than excited about it.

Given the fact that he played his junior hockey in Regina and is now even further away in Chicago, it's unlikely that all of his family and friends have been able to watch him in person in quite some time. That all changes on the weekend however, as the young star comes to town, and while fans are always excited to see the 19-year-old phenom, this will be on another level.

Unsurprisingly, Bedard is very excited about the opportunity, and to have all of his friends and family in the building will no doubt be very special. However, it appears the cost to get them in the building was much more than he expected, as he was asked about how many friends and family he'd have in attendance.

"It's not crazy, but I'll be paying to play for a night."

The price of NHL tickets has been a major talking point in recent years, and with Bedard still, on his rookie contract, it's safe to say that he was likely shocked with how much everything ultimately cost, even though he didn't reveal exactly how many tickets he had to buy.

Playing in front of family and friends must still be so special for the young star, and given how much hype and pressure has been surrounding him for so long, the chance to let go and simply have fun in front of them must be incredible for Bedard.
