The 2018 Team Canada scandal has shook the hockey world for a number of years now, and while we've got some answers lately, there's been just as many questions out of the updates.
NHL Commissioner makes a massive decision
Now, one of those questions have been officially answered by NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman;
The Philadelphia Flyers, New Jersey Devils and Calgary Flames have been informed they will receive cap relief for the players on Leave charged in the 2018 World Junior criminal proceedings.
According to TSN's Darren Dreger, the Flyers, Devils and Flames, who currently employ the implicated players will officially get cap relief for those players who have all been placed on leave.
This is huge for three teams that are looking to make different types of moves ahead of the trade deadline, and is the clarification that many have been looking for, as it has been a major question mark to this point. With the legal proceedings expected to take some time, this situation will be one that continues to change, but for now, the teams who were somewhat left in the dark by this investigation now have one major answer.
