A rivalry game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins has gotten heated after a dirty hit.
Marchand Takes Out Young Star With Dirty Slew Foot
The Maple Leafs and Bruins are once again facing off in the next chapter of their rivalry. Early on in the game, Brad Marchand and Timothy Liljegren were racing for the puck. Marchand looks to slewfoot Liljegren as they reach the puck sending the young defenseman into the boards hard.
NHL referees don't think this is a penalty on Marchand
How is that not a penalty!?
Liljegren leaves the game
Timothy Liljegren has left the game and has not returned after the hit. This is not the first or last time that Brad Marchand will likely be involved in this type of situation. With how egregious the play looks when watching it back a fine or suspension for Marchand could be in play.
As updates come in about Liljegren's status we will keep you up to date.
