The Chicago Wolves of the AHL have agreed to mutually release forward Connor McClennon from his contract.

McClennon Leaves Chicago After Mutual Agreement

The Chicago Wolves just announced that they have mutually agreed to part ways with 21-year-old forward Connor McClennon.

The Wolves and Connor McClennon have mutually agreed to the forward being released from his contract with the team.

McClennon was originally selected in the 6th round of the 2020 draft by the Philadelphia Flyers but elected not to sign with the team. Instead, he let his rights expire and signed an AHL deal with the Chicago Wolves.

He struggled with the team posting one assist through 7 games and was sent down to the Norfolk Admirals of the ECHL for a two-game stint. It is unknown what his next plan is but he certainly has the talent to be an effective pro.

At 5'8", McClennon is an undersized forward but he comes with offensive upside. In 2022-23, McClennon in his final year of juniors scored 46 goals and 92 points in 68 games with the Winnipeg Ice.

We wish McClennon the best and hope he is able to get his career up and running somewhere else.
