Elliotte Friedman dropped his latest bombshell tonight when he revealed the projected salary cap for next season.
Friedman Reveals Massive Boost To The Salary Cap
Today Elliotte Friedman announced that the salary cap is expected to jump to over 87 million. This is a huge boost from the current cap at around 83.5 million.
Cap estimate next year given at BoG is approx $87.675M
This means that NHL teams should have plenty of extra space to spend on either free agents or re-signing players. This is a great step for the NHL in catching up to other leagues who already have massive salary caps relative to the NHL.
