BREAKING: First Female Coach To Debut In The NHL Tonight
The NHL will see its first female coach in league history tonight.
First Female Coach
It has just been revealed that Jessica Campbell will be behind the Seattle Kraken's bench tonight making history as the first female coach in NHL history.
#SeaKraken will welcome @Firebirds assistant coach, Jessica Campbell behind the bench tonight at @ClimateArena for the matchup against Calgary.
She is believed to be the first woman to coach an NHL game.
Campbell is an assistant coach for the Coachella Valley Firebirds, the Kraken's AHL affiliate. She had a career in hockey as a player but transitioned to coach early on.
It should be noted that there have been female trainers in the NHL before but none have coached behind the bench yet. This is just further proof that we are getting closer and closer to full integration in the NHL which can do nothing but good for the sport.
