RUMOUR: Jack Edwards' Days Numbered in Boston
The Boston Bruins' commentator, Jack Edwards, is one of the most renowned hockey broadcasters in the NHL.
He made headlines not so long ago for the comments he made about Pat Maroon:
However, he's still a beloved figure in Boston. Now, unfortunately, his journey in Boston could be coming to an end sooner rather than later.
With the pre-season games slowly starting, broadcast teams are preparing for the new season, and a major change could happen in the coming days.
Fans noticed that something was different in yesterday's clash between the Rangers and the Bruins.
Jack Edwards to be Replaced as Bruins' Commentator?
Jack Edwards was replaced for yesterday's game by Alex Faust, the play-caller for the Kings between 2017 and 2023.
"Update: Jack Edwards is not on the mic tonight for NESN. Planned absence. Alex Faust, formerly of NU and LAK broadcast booth, is on the call with Melrose's own, Andy Brickley."
Edwards' Replacement Already Known?
It was reported that Edwards' absence was planned, but there are big rumors that lead us to believe Faust will replace Edwards for all games.
"It's been 30 seconds, and I'm all in on Alex Faust as PxP for the Bruins replacing Jack Edwards."
"Alex Faust should replace Jack Edwards on Bruins telecasts."
"Hopefully the next voice of the #nhlbruins.
@alex_faust"
The renowned reporter covering the Bruins, Jimmy Murphy, stated on X that he believes Faust will be named the full-time commentator for the Bruins.
"He might become much more than a fill-in, from what I am told."
If an official change happens, statements from everyone concerned will be released, and we'll be the first to report the news to you!
As seen on Hockey Patrol - Bruins commentator Jack Edwards likely finished in Boston
