BREAKING: Former Maple Leaf Gets Terminated Following Major Suspension
Former Toronto Maple Leaf Nick Ritchie has messed up overseas and is now looking for a new home.
Ritchie And Karpat To Part Ways Following Massive Suspension
Earlier this season, Nick Ritchie, a former top-10 pick and 481-game veteran, made the decision to jump ship from the NHL to overseas where he joined Karpat of the Finnish LIIGA.
Most expected Ritchie to produce at an elite rate in the Finnish rate but that could be nothing further than the truth as Ritchie only posted 5 points in 10 games and got suspended for 8 games following a disgusting outburst.
After all of this, Karpat and Ritchie agreed that it would be best to part ways.
Here is a translated statement from the team:
"Karpat cannot offer Ritchie a big enough role in the team for the rest of the season, so he is free to look for a place to play elsewhere. When he came up, we knew he was a high risk / high reward style card that we thought was worth a look. However, he was not able to rise to the role that we would have needed him to play",
Ritchie is now free to look anywhere in the world for his next contract and knowing his style as a gritty player, there may be an NHL team that decides to take a swing on the Ontario native.
