BREAKING: Friedman Confirms How Much The Salary Cap Will Go Up Next Year
Insider Elliotte Friedman has revealed how much the salary cap will go up next season and fans are excited.
Friedman Reveals Next Salary Cap
Recently Elliotte Friedman spoke on the 32 Thoughts podcast and revealed what the NHL is planning to do in terms of the salary cap.
Friedman: The Hagel deal..
Marek: is a pretty good indication that the cap is going up
Friedman: They're expecting the cap to go up 4 million next year and 5 million the year after.
So here is roughly what we can expect to see in the future:
2023-24: $83.5 million
2024-25: $87.5 million
2025-26: $92.5 million
A $9 million raise over two years is nothing to scoff at. For example, it would be plenty for a cap-strapped team to resign their star players. For comparison, Kirill Kaprizov and Cale Makar both make $9 million.
While it is not exact and everybody will be getting raises, it is nice to see the NHL finally start heading in the right direction after so many years with basically a flat cap.
As seen on Blade of Steel -Insider reports the cap is about to see a significant increase
