BREAKING: Tim Thomas Set To Return To Boston
Tim Thomas will make his return to Boston after staying out of the spotlight in recent years.
Bruins To Bring Back Thomas
Tim Thomas is one of the best goaltenders in Boston Bruins history. He helped them to the 2011 Stanley Cup and took home the Conn Smyth that year.
Since retiring from hockey, Thomas has stayed out of the spotlight but recently revealed that he will be returning to Boston soon.
"It's something I'm looking forward to," said Thomas, speaking from his new home in Barre, Vermont. "It's going to be good to see some old teammates. The Bruins have planned a lot of great events, so it should be an enjoyable season."
Thomas will be returning to the Bruins for the centennial celebration which comes after years of staying away from the NHL entirely.
In 2019, Thomas said he did not see himself returning to Boston at all.
"I just don't see it," Thomas remarked in 2019. "I have other interests. I have a totally different focus. I live in a different world now compared to the hockey world I inhabited before. I'm quite far away from Boston, and travel doesn't hold the same appeal for me anymore. It's not a reflection on the Boston Bruins or their fans, especially. My goodness, they supported me wholeheartedly during my time there, to the point where it was overwhelming."
Thomas will now return to Boston which is great to see considering how many thought he would never come back to the city at all.
