This time of year during the NHL teams hold their prospect tournaments, and players are looking to make a name for themselves. Some players definitely have a lot more talent than others and have a bigger 'name factor' so some players are looking to find other ways to stand out during the rookie showcase tournament, and that normally means some big hits and fights.
When the New Jersey Devils played the Montreal Canadiens last night, John Jones absolutely creamed Devils top prospect, second overall pick Simon Nemec, knocking him to the ice. Nikita Okhotiuk immediately came to his defence and challenged the 6'7 Habs prospect to a fight, which turned into a good little tilt.
Both players definitely made a good impression on their teams with this outcome.
