One thing the New York Rangers have done over these past fews has been trade incredibly well. They managed to draft and develop young defencemen who have turned into great NHL players like K'andre Miller, Ryan Lindgren and Braden Schneider.

They also traded for Norris winning defenceman Adam Fox, and newly appointed captain Jacob Trouba.

So while it is a blessing that they've managed to get all these great players, it is now a curse than other potential star prospects no longer want to be with the team due to a lack of room on the roster. That is the case now with 1st round pick Nils Lundkvist.

These has been a recent update on Lundkvists situation:

Update on Nils Lundkvist: I checked in with his agent, Claude Lemieux, who said that the 22-year-old defenseman will *not* be reporting for the #NYR's main camp next week. They've requested a trade and seem to plan on sitting tight until that happens.

Lundkvists agent, Claude Lemieux said that they've made the trade request and plan on sitting tight until it happens.

Chris Drury of the New York Rangers was then asked for an update on the situation, which he repsonded:

"I don't really have any update on it, Drury said Thursday at MSG Training Center in Tarrytown, Obviously, we think he's a real good player. We drafted him. We've worked with him the last number of years. We certainly hope he's here next week. I don't have a definitive answer as to what his plans are right now.
