It's the end of an era for the Chicago Blackhawks. Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews were the last of the remaining players from their 3 Stanley cup winning teams.
But it's also the beginning of a new one, since the Hawks got Connor Bedard at the draft lottery. Kyle Davidson is putting a significant stamp on the whole beginning of a new era thing, telling Toews he will not be returning, and now telling the media he had discussions with Kane, saying he won't be coming back either.
Would He Even Have Come Back Anyways ?
There's a chance he would have wanted to come back so he could play with Bedard, but chances are he already felt he said his goodbyes to the organization and the fans. He would also probably want to play in a winning environment, having just gotten a taste of it again with the Rangers (even though they lost). Bedard is good, but he's not THAT good. It's safe to say he'll need some backup to make the Blackhawks truly contend.
With some good decision making, the Blackhawks could have their next Kane and Toews of the future before you know it.
