Blockbuster Three-Way Trade Emerging Between Two Canadien Teams and the Capitals
This blockbuster three-way trade is emerging between two Canadian teams and the Washington Capitals, seeing 4 assets change hands.
Trade Market Heating Up As We Approach Holiday Freeze
The NHL trade market has been active this year, with rumours of potential trades surfacing throughout the beginning of the season. Now, it appears a massive three-way trade could emerge between the Vancouver Canucks, the Montreal Canadiens, and the Washington Capitals.
The Canucks have been looking to potentially trade Andrei Kuzmenko, and according to Elliotte Friedman, the Capitals are interested. However, there isn't a good fit for a trade there, since the Capitals are looking to deal Anthony Mantha.
Canadiens Could Help Facilitate the Deal for a Pick
This is where the Montreal Canadiens enter the picture, as a potential way to absorb Mantha's contract for the price of a future pick, similar to what they did this offseason. A trade could look like the following.
TO MONTREAL:
- Anthony Mantha, for this season only
- A 1st or 2nd round pick
TO VANCOUVER:
- A pick/a prospect
TO WASHINGTON:
- Andrei Kuzmenko
This looks like a win-win-win deal for every party involved. Would you do a deal that looked like this?
