As the Carolina Hurricanes are set to face the Florida Panthers in the Eastern Conference Finals, they have fired massive shots at all Floridians.
The Hurricanes front office has decided to limit ticketing exclusively to residents of the Carolinas. This comes after the Panthers limited their ticketing to U.S. residents exclusively to prevent Leafs fans from swarming their home games.
To make things even more scandalous, the Panthers did not have any restrictions on their tickets this time around.
With this all taking place, it begs the question of if ticketing restrictions are a fair practice to have in the modern-day NHL. It is understandable to not want your home games to look like an away game but there are plenty of other valid measures to ensure that this does not happen like offering tickets early for season ticket holders.
