Tortorella's former player in Columbus Brandon Dubinsky had some choice words directed at his former coach in a backhanded tweet.

Zach Werenski, another Blue Jackets player, also responded to the hiring with a congratulations comment, but currently Flyers player Cam Atkinson was having none of it.
It will be interesting to see how Tortorella does in Philly, a controversial and outspoken coach, Tortorella is something of a journeyman, having coached the Columbus Bluejackets, New York Rangers, Tampa Bay Lightning, whom he won a Stanley Cup with in 2004, Vancouver Canucks, and now Philidephia Flyers.
Tortorella is the first American-born NHL coach to reach 500 wins and has twice won the Jack Adams Award as the NHL's top coach.
