DISTURBING VIDEO: Charges laid on high school player for ATTACKING opponent with skate

In a video posted by On The Bench last night, it showed a high school player violently kicking his opponent multiple times while he was on the ice.
This game was played in Littleton, Colorado and the video was captured on the 'in-arena' video camera.
You will see as the player in black continues to kick the player in white, until one of his teammates notices whats happening and goes to defend his teammate by tackling the player in black.
The parent of the poor kick receiving the kicking, commented on the video:
That's my son. The one on the ice. He is fine, 1 kick to the body & one glanced off his head. the other team was pissed as my son spent 2 mins as the only D on the ice killing a 5-3 penalty (bench minors) for his HS JV team. And yes the police were involved, charges filed.
While i agree some punishment is warranted, let's remember this is a kid. He made a bad decision doesn't mean he is a lifelong criminal.
