Responding to Allegations of False Reporting
The drama surrounding John Gibson's reported desire to leave the Anaheim Ducks keeps ramping up.
On Monday, reporter Frank Seravalli claimed on the Nasty Knuckles Podcast that John Gibson was not going to play another game as an Anaheim Duck, and would be requesting a trade out of SoCal.
Later that day, Gibson's agent, Kurt Overheard (founder and CEO of KO Sports, Inc.) fired back claiming Seravalli's report was «false, unjust and inflammatory,» and that Gibson was «honored to be a member of the Anaheim Ducks and is a committed supporter of its fanbase, as well as the Ducks' community.
In response, Seravalli reminded Overhardt of an instance from December 2020, where Overhardt refuted Seravalli's report of David Ludwig leaving KO Sports and being hired by the Arizona Coyotes, a report that became officially announced by the team soon thereafter.
Though we don't yet know what Gibson's future holds in Anaheim, it's clear that things may have gotten just a little bit ugly before we find out his next NHL destination.
