The Vegas Golden Knights are current in the fight of their lives and at risk of missing the playoffs for the first time in their franchise history. Currently sitting outside of a Wild Card spot with 87 points, they are 3 points behind the LA Kings who are 3rd in the Pacific division, and 4 points behind Nashville and Dallas for the final Wild Card spots.

Last night the Golden Knights hosted the New Jersey Devils who are well outside of playoff contention and near the bottom of the standings, which should have been an easy win for Vegas and bring them within 1 point of the LA Kings. But the Knights blew it and lost to the Devils 3-2.

After the game, Golden Knights head coach had this to say about his goaltending:

This time of year you are looking for your guy to be better than the guy at the other end, and tonight that wasn't the case.

In the defence of Lehner, Andrew Hammond played the game of his life and stopped 42 of 44 saves to help the Devils to this victory.

But you also have to agree that at this time of year, Lehner needs to be better. Some of these goals were not the greatest.
