The Vancouver Canucks have an interesting case with Brock Boeser, and per Pierre LeBrun, the Vancouver Canucks have chosen a path for him.
Boeser Wants to Stay Put
Per The Athletic, Boeser has expressed that he wanted to stay in Vancouver.
The temperature seems to have cooled down on the Brock Boeser front. Remember, the Canucks gave his agent permission during this past season to feel out the trade market directly by speaking to teams.
Nothing came of it. And my understanding is there haven't been any teams calling this offseason so far.
And while he's still a name that many view as potential trade bait this summer, the reality from what I'm hearing is that the Canucks are more than happy to keep him in the fold if nothing comes their way that makes sense.
Boeser requested a meeting with Canucks GM Patrik Allvin after the season in which the player shared that he would prefer to stay put. That isn't to say he's no longer in play. The Canucks are still listening. They're in need of a No. 3 center and a blue line upgrade. But all things being equal at the moment, there's very little activity here.
This is a bit of a surprise considering that Boeser and the Canucks seemed to be moving in opposite directions just a few months ago.
We will see what happens with the sniper in the offseason.
