The NHL's pre-season kicked off overnight, and in the eight goal display between the Arizona Coyotes and Los Angeles Kings, we saw plenty of incredible action to display for the Australian fans.
A breathtaking display
In the second period of the first pre-season game, former No. 3 overall pick Logan Cooley took the puck inside his own zone, and in a few seconds of magic, announced himself to the NHL world.
In the move, he beat several Kings defenders, finishing it off with a beautiful shot to beat the goaltender, and now, the eyes of the world are on one of the NHL's most promising prospects.
Can he live up to the hype?
After an incredible 60-point performance in his 39 games a season ago with the University of Minnesota, Cooley was already seen as the Coyotes top prospect, and now, he's gaining plenty of hype.
With Clayton Keller and some other promising young prospects, the future looks bright for Arizona, and if Cooley can put up these type of performances when the regular season kicks off, he'll be a key part of their team going forward.
As Read on Blade of Steel - Cooley just scored the goal of the year, and most people weren't awake to see it
